How visible is your business profile on Google

Goal

To increase the visibility of our optical shop. We wanted customers to map their route to our facility and take advantage of the on-site services, such as eye examination, glasses, frames fitting, etc.

Looking at our competitors' traffic, we knew that we still had room for improvement.

Challenge

While looking for information on how to promote local businesses online, we came across this article that heavily placed hope on free business profiles from Google that display online for customers searching for the products or services that the business offers. 

We already had a business profile on Google. Still, it wasn't attractive and visible enough to users searching the internet that they would choose to route to our business location based on it and the information it contained.  

Daily, we saw our largest competitors enjoying far more customers visiting their salons and taking advantage of the services available in the salons. 

Action

Knowing the challenges we faced, and what we wanted to achieve, we got to work!

First, we prepared a list of our biggest competitors who enjoyed a much higher number of customers than our company. 

Then, to validate the assumption that they were actively using their Google business profiles to promote their locations, we decided to go through their profiles and check them out. It turned out that almost everyone was managing their profile. They were completed from A to Z and included reviews, photos, and others.

They were well optimized.

Later, we started thinking about how to improve our company profile on Google? How to manage it to increase the visibility of our optical salon profile on Google? 

We browsed the internet for an answer to our question, and that's how we came across an article about optimizing Google business profile and increasing its visibility to customers.

After reading the article, we decided to sign up for the Localo app, which would take us by the hand through the entire process - from checking our business' visibility on Google to improving it, increasing its visibility, and constantly monitoring it on Google.

First, we examined the visibility of our business and its profile on Google in the free local rank checker tool. There was no surprise here as our competitors were simply higher in Google than us and thus more visible to customers.

The next step was to see what else we could do according to the Localo tool and its audit of our company's Google profile.

We didn't do it all at once, we divided the tasks into weeks, and over several weeks we carefully did what Localo told us to do.

The first week we focused on getting two reviews and publishing a post. The following week we created a company description and added another post. We optimized the company description the week after, added some photos, created another post, etc. All according to what Localo suggested.

The result:

After a few weeks of simple and enjoyable work, we significantly increased our optical salon's visibility. Since then, we have constantly monitored its visibility and done the necessary actions to sustain it. 

Sometimes, Google will implement some update, or competitors will perform a lot of actions in a short time and become more visible, but thanks to Localo, we are the ones who know better what to do and how.
